FKE SAFETY PASS PROGRAM 2025/2026
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) will conduct the Safety Pass Program online beginning Semester 2025/2026-1. (Previously conducted physically.)
Program Schedule for SERIES 2:
- Pre-Registration: 29 Dec 2025 – 4 Jan 2026
- Elearning Access: 6 – 13 January 2026
- FKE SP Test via Elearning: 3pm, 13 January 2026
Applicants must complete all seminar videos via eLearning before the test date.
A minimum test score of 70% is required to pass and obtain the Safety Pass.
Please ensure that applicants have completed the pre-registration according to the details stated above.

⚠️ Important Remark
This Safety Pass Program is COMPULSORY (mandatory) for all students from the 2024/2025 intake onwards. Students must complete and pass this program before they are allowed to participate in any laboratory sessions under FKE.

1. What is the FKE Safety Pass Program?

All researchers and UTM students who intend to use the FKE laboratory facilities are required to attend the program. This includes both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Safety Pass Card must be presented before entering any laboratory. Please note that additional training or certification may be required for access to certain specialized laboratories.
3. Is the FKE Safety Pass compulsory?
Yes. All laboratory users are required to obtain the FKE Safety Pass Card before they can access or utilize any FKE laboratory facilities. This requirement applies to all students from the 2024/2025 intake onwards.
4. When is the FKE Safety Pass Program scheduled?
The FKE Safety Pass Program is typically conducted every semester. Official schedules are announced by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) through formal communication channels. All applicants are required to complete the safety seminar and successfully pass the test.
5. Is there any fee for the FKE Safety Pass Program?
No, there is no fee. The program is provided free of charge.
6. What does the training include?
The program covers essential safety protocols and procedures required for safe laboratory practices. This includes electrical, mechanical, chemical, and biological safety topics.
7. Is there an assessment?
Yes. To obtain the Safety Pass Card, participants must attend the safety seminar and successfully complete the test. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.
8. How do I check my results?
After verification by the assessor, participants can check their result status within two weeks of completing the FKE Safety Pass Test via the official website (for 2024/2025 session) or UTMSMART (for 2025/2026 session onwards).
9. What if I miss the session?
If you miss a scheduled session, you must join the next available series. Completion of the program is mandatory for laboratory access. However, temporary permission to use lab facilities may be considered upon submission of the Laboratory Usage Form, available for download from the official website.
