Electrical Engineering (MEEE)
The Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) at FKE is a research-based postgraduate program tailored for individuals with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field. Designed as a multi-disciplinary program, it aims to enhance participants’ abilities in advanced research, analytical thinking, and academic presentation. The program prepares candidates to contribute new insights or augment existing knowledge in their area of specialization through a research thesis. The degree is conferred upon successful completion of a research thesis and a comprehensive oral defense (viva voce). Prospective students are encouraged to strengthen their foundational knowledge and broaden their understanding across relevant disciplines to ensure they can carry out high-quality, impactful research.
Intake March/October* every year
- Application for February* intake is open from September to November (for international student) and from September to December (for local student).
- Application for October* intake is open from March to June (for international student) and from March to July (for local student).
Graduates of this program are well-positioned for premium employment opportunities in sectors such as IC design, advanced electronics, power and energy systems, telecommunications, and automation. With their specialized research skills and technical expertise, they are highly sought after for roles in multinational technology companies, R&D divisions, smart manufacturing, and emerging industries like renewable energy, electric vehicles, and IoT. Entry Requirement*
The admission requirements for students entering the Taught Course program are as follows:
Candidates who meet the requirements of (ii – vi) are required to take and pass the prerequisite courses determined by the Faculty with a minimum grade of (B-).

*An international student candidate is required to have a minimum qualification of the TOEFL of 550 or IELTS of band 6.
