During the recent 54th Festival Konvokesyen at UTM, a group of ECE undergraduate students organized a fundraising event for cancer patients. The MaKNa & Electrical Engineering Charity Event (MECE) which was held on 22-27 April 2015 was led by program president Lim Thye Yee and consisted of 54 volunteer students from ECE with the support of program advisors, Dr. Rabia Bakhteri, Pn. Norhafizah Ramli and En. Muhammad Arif Abdul Rahim.
The program consisted of donation collection throughout the six days of the festival. The ECE students created an LED Music Synchronizer project which was displayed at the MECE booth throughout the festival. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the volunteer students, the MECE program successfully collected RM 9010.15 in donations. The donations were officially handed over to representatives from Majlis Kanser Nasional (MaKNa) during the closing ceremony on the last day of the Festival Konvokesyen.
