ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM
Postgraduate Research Program, Master of Philosophy (MEEE) |

| The admission requirements for students into the Master of Philosophy research mode program are as follows: | |
| i | A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent that is recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA >= 2.75 / 4.00 or 2.50 <= CGPA < 2.75 / 4.00 subject to thorough internal assessment or a CGPA < 2.50 / 4.00 with at least 5 years of work experience; or |
| ii | A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering other than Electrical Engineering (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA >= 3.30 / 4.00; and 2 years of work experience in the field of Electrical Engineering or |
| iii | A Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Physics) or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA >= 3.30 / 4.00; or |
| iv | A Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Computer, Software, Information Technology) or equivalent with a minimum GPA of >= 3.30 / 4.00 and 2 years of work experience in the field of electrical engineering; or |
| v | A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology (only in the field of electrical engineering) or equivalent with a minimum GPA of >= 3.30 / 4.00. |
| vi | Or any other qualifications approved by the Faculty’s Academic Committee. |
Postgraduate Research Program, Master of Philosophy (MEEB) |
|
| i | Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer), Bachelor of Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry), Bachelor of Medicine with CPA ≥ 3.00 will be considered for this programme; OR |
| ii | Bachelor of Engineering with CPA < 3.00 / 4.00 and one year working experience in areas related to Medical Engineering |
Postgraduate Research Program, Master of Philosophy (MEER) |
|
| i | Bachelor Degree in any field of Allied Health Sciences, related to Therapy and Rehabilitation, Sports Science, engineering field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines with good honour from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or other institutions of higher education approved by the Senate; or |
| ii | A student candidate with lower qualifications will be considered if the candidate is proven to have adequate academic background and appropriate working experience. |
Fast-Track Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Postgraduate Research Program (PEEE – Fast Track) |
|
| i | A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from UTM with a CGPA >= 3.67 / 4.00; or |
| ii | A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from other research university recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA >= 3.67 / 4.00, subject to a rigorous internal evaluation. |
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Postgraduate Research Program (PEEE) |
|
| i | A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from UTM or from other institution of higher education recognized by the University Senate; or |
| ii | A Master’s degree other than electrical engineering, may be considered provided that one has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology or equivalent and at least 3 years of work/research experience in the field of electrical engineering; or |
| iii | Or any other qualifications approved by the Faculty’s Academic Committee. |
