We are thrilled to announce that our Airostians, Tan Jing Zhe, Chuah Kee Yong and Nipuhawanj Lai Ze Min from the Team Airost UTM have won the 1st RUNNER UP Award and the Best UI Design Award at Varsity Hackathon 2023! This international hackathon brought together over 400 teams from around the world, with over 1,000 participants competing to solve real-world issues. It was unbelievable that they are just Year 1 Software Engineering students and they won RM3000 cash prizes from this hackathon!
Their team chose to work on Case Study 5, which focused on the digitalisation of governmental services. They developed an all-in-one reporting app called myKepoLah, which allows citizens to report issues like potholes, broken streetlights, and pollution directly to government authorities. We are proud of them for creating a solution that has the potential to make a real impact in our community.
We would like to thank the organizers of Varsity Hackathon 2023 for providing this opportunity for us to showcase our skills and learn from others. We would also like to congratulate all the other teams who participated and made this an exciting and challenging competition.
Finally, we would like to thank our team members for their dedication and hard work, as well as our senior members who provided the junior members with guidance and support throughout the competition.
